don’t use the rich text editor…uncheck it from your user settings..
Yes. Turn off the wysiwyg editor and in admin -> Options -> Writing

I have but the JS is still modified. I see CDATA type entries messing up the “<” and “>” brackets.
Strange indeed. I do it fairly frequently across several blogs.

Some of the built in WordPress filters can break javascript. I have a small little plugin to remedy that problem:

This may or may not work, I have not seen CDATA messing it up before. You really shouldn’t get CDATA’s except in the feeds, as far as I know.
