Duplicate Posts In Sidebar/Widget

Is there any way to stop your post from appearing in the sidebar/widget without taking it out of that category?
Ex. here:
http://www.cvines.org/short-story-of-the-week-a-hard-won-triumph/The post is the “Hard Won Triumph” and it is in the “Short Story of the Week” category, so it is appearing again right next to the post in the sidebar.
