• I got my company’s WordPress site set up while at work and now am tryin to access the admin logon from my home computer so I can work on it at home. The WordPress.com page does not recognize my login ID – is ther something I am supposed to do before logging on from a different PC/server set up?

  • If you’re just logging into your site you should not have to do anything. So you must be miss typing something in the login info

Just to confirm we are talking apple-to-apples : I am talking about logging in to the wordpress admin for my site, not just viewing the site.

From my home PC the wordpress.com site does not even recognize my ID which in this case is very simple (my name with a period in beween at gmail.com). I have double & triple checked what I am inputting but wordpress tells me there is no such ID.

What’s the URL that you are trying to login to? If it’s WordPress.COM then you are posting in the wrong forum.

You need to ask at http://en.support.wordpress.com/ instead.

Do I need to download and install wordpress on my home PC to be able to log into wordpress admin for my company site?

From my home PC the wordpress.com site

What Jan is telling you is you’re in the wrong forum. Self hosted wp.org is supported here, not hosted wp.com.
