The local copy has to be created before it can be uploaded to Dropbox. (Dropbox doesn’t have an interface to create zip files piece-by-piece at their end). It is deleted immediately after upload.

Our copy seems to stay on the server. I have the latest copy on my dropbox. Is it ok to delete the copy on the local server and see if it remains again?
Note I have it set to delete local copies after sync in expert settings.

If it’s not deleting the local copy, then something is not right with the backup. The deletion of local copies is done once an upload to cloud storage successfully completes. Please paste your log using pastebin.com and post the link here so that I can take a look at it.

Here’s the log line where it deletes the local file in this backup:
0306.297 (1) Deleting local file: backup_2014-02-17-1122_AnimeSecretsorg_b2c53398e167-db.gz: OK
It seems to think it was deleted. Was it not?

Upon closer examination, seems the ones we have in the ftp are dated 2013.
However we also see this left over:
backup_2014-02-17-1520_AnimeSecretsorg_5aa45f73d9f7-plugins.zip.tmp
That’s a temporary file; those are cleaned up after 24 hours (or whenever you next run a backup, if later).

Will we harm the plugin by removing these backups from 2013?
