Ah, this is the same issue as mdubz’s earlier post. His solution works well. I changed the start and end columns to BIGINT(16).
Thanks, brijeshk89, for this straightforward plugin.

This dealt with, can I request a mode of “disabled” (or something) so ranges can be turned off but not lost?
    Thx,

    Hi,

I have just released version 1.3 which fixes the BIGINT issue and also adds the option to enable and disable the IP range.

    Thanks for your suggestion.

    Hi brijesh,
As long as you asked and it’s all fresh in the mind. A drop-down list of users? You do check against the list.

We will be adding this option within a week.

I just noticed a typo, “Select the chekbox to set this range as active.”

I have just released version 1.3.1 which fixes the typo and also adds the users list in a dropdown.

    Slick.
When I inadvertantly added a second user to an existing IP range, I got the usual range error messages. Perhaps a distinct message for duplicate IP users?
I understand. There’s usually more code around a process than there is for the process itself!

    Brijesh,
You have me thinking too much now. My client asked if he was logged in using your IP plugin. Could you have a function to return a string if the login was by IP? It could be added to the user name, like One User (IP).
    Just a thought.

Had been busy over the last week. Will address these issues within a couple of days.

Thank you for the reports and suggestions.

    Hi,

I have launched version 1.3.2 which includes the error handling for existing IP ranges and also added a note in the header which states that the user is logged in by IP Based Login.

    Hi Brijesh,
Thanks for the work on IP Login.
The header is a good place for the message.
Something to ponder is how to test a non-admin user with IP. Once logged in, there’s no way to access Settings to turn it off. And if you log off, you get logged right back in! Perhaps disable IP login if you logout and (re)visit within a short period of time?
I’m using the Sidebar Login widget plugin.

    HI,

I just launched 1.3.4 which adds an option for the user to disable login for 15min 30min or an hour. Hover on the “Logged In by IP Based Login” link and you will see the options. So you can now test the non admin users as well.

    Hi Brijesh,
Pretty slick! I hope others are finding these enhancements useful.
    Thx,
