• Hi there.

I’m running the Genesis Balance theme and I figured out how to make some changes to the theme. I saved the changes in the theme’s folder on my computer but apparently I need to upload the template file to my child theme’s root directory. How do I do that?

    Here’s my site: http://www.kitchenno4.com

    Thanks for the help!

Do you have FTP Access to your host?

    Yes, I do.

Using your FTP access, upload your child theme folder and its contents to your hosted WordPress installation. You want to upload it to this directory:

    [YOUR ROOT]/wordpress/wp-content/themes/

where [YOUR ROOT] is the root location of your website and /wordpress/ might be /wordpress/ or /wp/ or non-existent. Either way it will look similar to your directory structure where you made the changes to your theme. The important part is that you upload your child theme folder to wp-contents/themes/
