  • If you have to ask… it is very hard.
Try to find a theme that is closer to what you want:

ugh. are you serious? What if you have a husband who has a computer science degree and has *some* knowledge of website design?

Then don’t ask in the forum… ask him 🙂
(BTW, my son also has a computer science degree and he is an excellent coder… but a crappy “designer” LOL)

The problem is he doesn’t know!!! And not being a computer person, I dont’ understand how he can be a computer science major and not know how to do websites. Then again, it all seems to be the same to me. Sigh.

That’s how it is: having a computer science degree doesn’t make you a web designer. Those are two different animals 🙂
I don’t know anything about programming, not able to write one line of code in PHP – and still can design themes for WP and other CMS.

Why not try to find a theme that already has that second sidebar? Look for 3 column themes…

Would it be easy enough to transfer my current banner to the new theme I choose? (Sorry if all of my questions seem really dumb, but my husband did most of the work…under my creative direction of course. :))

Basically, yes. I mean if you find a theme that has either its own header image or there is room for it (or, worst case scenario: you make room for it by modifying the dimensions of the header area) – you can just add/replace your image.

Of course, since different themes might have different width, it may be necessary to alter, modify the existing image.
