Content area: scaling background image

    3 column [content middle] twentyfourteen child, and I’m trying to scale a background image the entire width/height of the div#content.site-content area. I have 6 pages total currently, with the static home page feature, yet it’s working differently on half the pages then the others?

    On my main [home] page and a couple others it’s scaling horizontally correctly, but it’s lopping the top/bottom of the background image off…on the half of the pages it’s scaling vertically correctly yet I can tell it’s scaled reaaaaally wide [even though it’s cut off].

    Does anyone have an idea of what I might be running into, or possibly know of a working example of what I’m trying to do?
