    My website is abstractimpression.org

For five days I have been trying to put a quote in my web page:
    “Creativity Takes Courage”
“The effort to see things without distortion takes something like
courage, and this courage is essential to the artist, who has to look at everything as though he saw it for the first time.”
    Henri Matisse

In my media section I have PNG file, that i was going try and put at the top of my page, like i did with the logo. but does not work. TGhe meda file PNG is how I would like the quote to look.

It took me till yesterday to get the text were i wanted it. A lot of the time was spent trying to use a couple fonts etc. I find everything so difficult. Even the plugins for fonts are complicated and I cant seen find the fonts i want. I can’t figure out why a font plugin cant be a simple list you pick from like a word processing program. Here you have pick style and this and that and if you don’t pick corrctly you can not find the font want. I know there names I want and I can’t get to them.

Is there a simple document that tells one, if you want to change fonts write this, If you want to indent do this.

I also thought that we could drop stuff were we wanted an item to go…forgot the term, not cut and paste, but like that. I don’t see how that is done at all. I cut and paste and it ruins everything. Some of the plugins that are suppose to help say things like: top’ bottom right, left, middle of the page, which does not describe where something should go..

I have been working hours a day and not getting anywhere. There has to be a more straight forward approach to doing these things. Did I pick the wrong platform, should I be using something besides WordPress, which is only 13 % of the internet.

I read this stuff and is completely counter intuitive.

    Thanks,
    Michael

  • I’m sorry but was there a question in there?

There are question(s) there, but the message is written poorly. My apologies.

I am looking for simple, good instructions. on text editing commands. Change fonts, capitals, no capitals, etc.

also looking for a WYSIWYG editor. I tried CKeditor but there is no support for the WordPress plugin. Cant pay for the one they have until after taxes.

But, I have dropped all this, because I lost all of my website work this morning. I am taking this as a good signal…to start afresh.

Do you know of any, very well designed themes, for art or photography, that are very very easy to design? It is not a commercial site, its educational in nature. Lost of photos, with many image sizes to deal with. Not a lot of fancy stuff…the art is the focus.

    Thank you

All we can suggest is that you browse the themes in http://wordpress.org/themes/ Perhaps focus on photoblogging themes?
Any additional functionality that you need may be added via plugins.
