Use the regenerate thumbnails plugin to generate correct sized images for the slider.

    I have and nothing changes.

Are the original images smaller than the size set in the slider settings?

No they are larger than the size set. I regenerate and nothing happens. I tried to reset the slider settings and now the slider gets stuck on the second slide. This new problem is happening just in safari but not in firefox. I tried to clear Safari Cache but it is still doing the same thing.

Images are still cut off in both browsers.

Worked for every slide that I had a larger dimension image and then regenerated. Every slide is fine except for 1 and 3. I’ll try and switch out posts to see if that does anything

Has nothing to do with offsetting. I tried to turn offset to 0. Then brought a different post in. It seems to be isolated to specific posts.

Deactivated all the plugins, nothing. I tried to change this post featured image multiple times, but I keep getting the same cutting off even though the image is 955×534

All of the images need to be at least the full size of the slider. If the images have different aspect ratios than the slider settings, WP will scale & crop a copy of the image.

The images are larger than the slider aspect ratio. I regenerate thumbnails but as you can see the image is still cut off

I think the issue you have is the second sentence above.

If the images have different aspect ratios than the slider settings, WP will scale & crop a copy of the image.

crop means WP cuts off a portion of the image.

So if the slider is 1000w x 500h and I have an image that is 1500×500 it will scale the width to 1000 and the height to 250? Is there a way to make it so the slider will just crop the image automatically cutting out 250 height from top and bottom?

    Is this what you essentially.mean?

So if my slider is 800w x 400h I will need an image that is exactly that size or if scaled will at least give me 400h. So if its 1000w X 600h

So if the slider is 1000w x 500h and I have an image that is 1500×500 it will scale the width to 1000 and the height to 250?

No, it will crop the 1500px down to 1000px. It won’t do any scaling because your image height is already the size required.

So if my slider is 800w x 400h I will need an image that is exactly that size or if scaled will at least give me 400h.

    You want a size that scales to 800×400. 1000×600 does not scale to 800×400. 1000 x 0.8 = 800, 600 x 0.8 = 480 which means the 80px would get cropped off.

So then why does the image still get cut off in this situation. Slider frame is 920×400.

Image is 1000×567. Shouldn’t it resize to 920×522. In that case the image should fit but it doesn’t. Is there a plugin that will automatically crop, size and fit featured images to the size of my slider. 920×400?

What I explained above is that WP scales & crops your image. But WP won’t stretch/shrink your image from one aspect ratio to another. If you want to search for a tool the keyword you would use is stretch (with image, wp, etc.)

k but you didnt explain why that example wouldn’t work. If I do that exact example it cuts off on yhe bottom. I’ve never had an issue with this. If I made a featured image larger than the slider it would merely cut off excess pixels to fit. So it might chop off a head if the image is larger.
