Alternative to Cpanel login

Hi everyone,

I apologize in advance if this is in the wrong section.

I had a developer go ahead and customize my website. He started his work on his localhost. I’ve given him FTP access to my site to move everything over, but he’s asking for the cpanel login (which I’m not sure I want to give him, as that’ll enable full access to everything). I’m assuming he needs to do something with the databases, but I’m not too sure. Is there another way around this, and is this really necessary?
