Searching for database plugins

    Most forum responses on this topic go back 2,3, or 4 years. I have customized MySQL databases. Am searching for plugins that allow me to access wp user forms input, with code similar to $_POST[ ‘courseTitle’ ]. All the responses I’ve read in the forum indicate I first have to retrieve the data from a wp table using wpdb. Is there really no plugin that will more conveniently retrieve the wp table data for me?
