Hello Lucas,
For the first issue could try adjusting the Overall Image Height under the General Options and then regenerate thumbnails to see if it helps.
The second issue is a bug I didn’t spot so will work on getting a fix for that as soon as I can.
Let me know how the first one goes and if it does not work will look into that too.

I have just updated to 1.1.7 too and I see the same problem, reported by Lucas too.

A gap of space appears directly above the featured images as well as above all featured images on posts around the site! I like the “Remove the white space above content” option and it worked fine for me, but now this new version adds this additional new space that makes the site look nasty!

Otherwise, 5 stars from me – great plugin!
Revisiting the option guys – may have to target the elements individually depending on weather its the blog feed, single post or its a page.
Will upload a fix as soon as possible.
@lucas will have a beta version on the site before final update and yes, will appreciate the testing before committing the changes š
