• I have a current website sitting on a hosting account in the root folder and i wanted to leave it running while I rebuilt the site on the wordpress platform.

So I installed wordpress in a folder on the root – wordpress so the new site has a current URL of thebusinessbuilders.ca/wordpress

I did a repoint of thebusinessbuilders.ca to the new url, but the url wih /wordpress is what shows.

How can I re-write the URL so that thebusinessbuilders.ca only shows in the address bar instead of thebusinessbuilders.ca/wordpress?

  • I would use .htaccess rewrite to edit the url. You can google how to do this, assuming you’re using apache and have access to these settings on your server a quick google of “Hide directory with apache” should give you some useful information.
