    Hello,
I just exported some tables by creating:

    tablepress-export-2014-01-18-13-46-25-csv.zip

When I try to import in another installation, I get the error:

    Zip file cannot be opened.

Same is when I try HTML.

So, what can I do ?

    Thanks for supporting me !

    Hi,

thanks for your post, and sorry for the trouble.

My assumption here is that the exported ZIP file is somehow corrupted, maybe because the ZIP Extension in PHP has some problem.

Does this ZIP file work fine on your local computer, i.e. can you extract the CSV files to a folder?

    Hi Tobias,

    Schön, dass Du antwortest.

Well, the ZIP file was corrupted indeed for reasons, I do not know.
Because, it did not work on my PC as well.

I could reapair the file with ZIP repair tool and then the import worked in a minute and fine.

So, I dont know where and how the files are zipped, so you should know better, where the reason for the issue might be.

Anyway, my case is, happily, closed.

    Hi,

most likely this was a temporary issue on your server, where the file was not created properly, maybe because of memory reasons. Another possibility would be that it was corrupted during the download maybe.

Regardless, good to hear that you were able to fix this with that tool, and that the import worked! 🙂

    Best wishes,
    Tobias

P.S.: In case you haven’t, please rate TablePress here in the plugin directory. Thanks!

    Hi Tobias,

just for me to know: where is the place, the zipping software is installed usually ?
On the server, in WP, in the plugin ?

I ask because I meanwhile had a similar error with an export from another plugin and would like to find out where the bug really is.

    Grüße

    Daytona

PS: I rated your plugin and did even something better: I just sent you little donation for your work and supporting me…..-)

    Hi,

first: Thanks for the donation and the rating, I really appreciate it!

The ZIP software that is used is part of the PHP program on the server (and depending on how it’s configured it might be a library on the server as well). See http://www.php.net/manual/en/zip.installation.php for more. So, it’s not directly part of WordPress or a plugin.
This means that you will not really be able to fix this yourself (unless you are the admin of the server or have root access), but should contact your webhost company about this.

    Regards,
    Tobias
