custom menus not working

We’re using the latest WP, WooCommerce, and an InkTheme called Squirrel Pro. We deactivated Squirrel briefly a few weeks ago to use a WooTheme, but it wasn’t working out, so we went back to Squirrel. While most of my settings remained, the custom menu is “broken” and reverts to an old menu with pages that don’t even exist or are set to private. It won’t let me add or remove pages from the menu.

We’ve done all the disabling/enabling of plugins and are left with what we need. I need to know what to do next. From my search of the forums, this is something that tends to happen, no matter the theme/plugins. We’ve had a custom menu before. I know, I created it a year ago.

I’m not that knowledgeable about code, so if you direct me to code, I need to know exactly what and where to put it. The custom menu wasn’t working in the WooTheme as well, so somewhere along the way recently the javascript or php didn’t update correctly… or something. The menu system worked a year ago. It’s messing with pages we need to show, and others that need to be hidden.
