Sharedaddy bug – wrong image when sharing with Facebook

Having a problem with Facebook sharing in blog posts using Sharedaddy plugin.
Recently when clicking on the Facebook icon, it opens the Facebook sharing page but shows a completely wrong thumbnail image from a random post from months before.

A search on these forums showed someone else having a similar problem which was not resolved at the time (the thread was dormant and is now locked):
