Slashes in comments

i noticed that whenever I go back and edit a comment, slashes appear where the apostrophe is. For example, if I wrote “She didn’t go” and then I go back and edit because I meant to write ‘He’, the result will become (after edit), “He didn/’t go”.

Where and why is that forward slash (/) appearing? And can someone help me out in fixing this problem?
