Can you ftp into it and delete the active theme? It should revert to the default theme and you can do the same for the plugins. This eliminates any code that would be in themes or plugins. You can download them before hand if you don’t have copies of them. This is basic troubleshooting that you can start with.
I’m new to WordPress so let me make sure I know what I need to do. I go into my ftp file manager and delete my theme (Immovables). Then do a reload?
Sorry….I’m a newbie….but trying to learn quick.
Yes… that is what graphical_force was saying
Do you still have either twentyfourteen, twentythirteen, or twentytwelve in your theme folder? If so, then if you remove your theme, it will default to one of those themes. The logic is that if the code that is causing it is in your theme then that will be eliminated and then you know where to focus to get your theme fixed.
This is just to start out but the fact that you have Godaddy could be to blame since there are tons of forum threads with people having issues with Godaddy and WordPress. But my original suggestion eliminates the most basic stuff at first. Of course make sure that you have a copy of your theme before you delete in on your server.
I deleted the theme. Now I get the white screen of death when I reload the website page:
http://www.coconutz-costarica.com
Still cannot access wp-admin
I do have 2012,2013, 2014 in my themes folder.
Okay….renamed plug-in folder to Plugins_old as suggested. Still cannot log in or see admin screen. Plus still have white screen of death. Trying not to panic. I really appreciate the help.
Still nothing….still reading forums but now I have no website. It didn’t revert to standard theme. Is there a way to access the admin panel without doing the wp-admin?
There is not another way to get into wp-admin. If you go daddy white screen of death you will get quite a bit of advice of things to try like this: http://wordpress.org/support/topic/white-screen-of-death-23?replies=28
I think you can try to deactivate all plugins & themes from database:
http://perishablepress.com/quickly-disable-or-enable-all-wordpress-plugins-via-the-database/
http://docs.appthemes.com/tutorials/how-to-change-wordpress-themes-directly-from-the-database/
After you have done these and still have problems, your database is not working properly. In my case, I do backup and reinstall from scratch and import old database back into the new database.
Okay…..managed to get the theme back though not displaying correctly. So no more white screen of death. But still cannot access the wp-admin page.
