  • Jen,

Your class-wp.ph file inside the wp-includes folder may be corrupted.

Please download a copy of WordPress from http://wordpress.org/download/ and reupload that particular file again using FTP.

Please see http://codex.wordpress.org/FTP_Clients and http://www.wpbeginner.com/beginners-guide/how-to-use-ftp-to-upload-files-to-wordpress-for-beginners/ on how to use FTP.

    Thanks Ravi,

I have done that now and then it offers other files that need to be uploaded which I have also done until it now comes to this one — wp-includes/date.php

This one is not in the file list. Any suggestions?

    Thanks,

    Jen

    Me again,

This time I downloaded the “date” file from the wordpress link and then systematically uploaded each new file that the website said it needed (on the page where the website is supposed to appear).

And was up to post.php and now it says this…

Fatal error: Cannot redeclare _wp_post_revision_fields() (previously declared in /home/cgibson/public_html/wp-includes/post.php:4682) in /home/cgibson/public_html/wp-includes/revision.php on line 59

    Which really doesn’t look good.

    Please help,

    Jen

    Lets get debugging…..
1.Rename the theme folder for the activated theme to see if that’s where the problem is coming from.
    2. If that does not show any changes then try renaming the plugins folder to something like plugins-2

Let me know if there are any changes

I tried both of these things but they didn’t work but also tried accessing the remote site through FTP again and was able to get in.

So now the site is restored to a previous version which requires a bit of updating but nonetheless is working. Hallelujah!

Thanks for your input just the same.

Every bit of help helps 🙂

    Jen

Looks like your whole wp-includes folder may be corrupted.

You can reinstall WordPress from wp-admin/update-core.php if it is accessible or upload the whole wp-admin, wp-includes folders and other files in the root folder. You should re upload everything except those inside the wp-contents folder.
