SEO indexing questions

I am using latest nextgen gallery. Everything works with exception of inability to index nextgen images to google. Documentation mentioned using shortcodes would index images. It doesn’t! (Single pic works but not with gallery or album ID). There is no way to bring that to sitemap (neither in post or page level).
I tried wordpress SEO and that fails as well. I am assuming it looks for img tag in the post-content where shortcodes fail to return existence of any image.
Indexing rich content like images is a very critical component. I would appreciate if you can provide a code as a workaround or write to a blog to guide developers in right direction.
