What is the problem you are trying to solve? Are you getting inundated with comment spam?
No I’m not getting any spam and have had little over the years. But I’m sure that if I insert the credit link in the footer it will be much more easier for them to find the blog and start attempting comment spamming, and that is why I think I need to protect the credit link so it will be harder to scan it, as I’m sure they use automatic scanning techniques.
Spam on my WordPress powered blogs have never been a problem while using anti-spam plugin, although some have gotten through.
I just want to minimize the attempts and make them stay away.
make an image, name it something that is not descriptive. Have the image say powered by wordpress or whatever is to your liking and put it in place of the standard text link in footer.php.
