Hundreds of 404 errors

    Hi,

    I have a publisher client who’s Google Webmaster Tools is reporting over 700 404’s. I’m
    concerned using Redirection for managing all the 301 redirects could expose the site to performance issues. Anyone have any experience using redirection for managing hundreds of 301 redirects? Any issues? Is there a better approach for handling this many redirects?

    I have a similar problem (except we have 34,700 404 Errors !) after migrating to WP. PHP based redirection doesn’t seem to be working.
