Not compatible with WordPress 3.8

    That looks mor like a user permission Problem. Look in the Profile of the user, if it a BackWPup Admin ? (Mostly in the end of the Profile)

    I did not think of that, and that is exactly what it was. Not sure why the upgrade to 3.8 changed the permissions, but now I know to be on the lookout for that.
