An official announcement that clarifies all of these things is forthcoming, but the gist of it is that your support key will continue to provide you with access to support, early access to Shopp version updates, and automatic add-on updates. None of these things will be available to those who simply download it here.
You’ll be able to activate your standard support key against two sites instead of 1, and it will be activated using a special plugin which enables the advanced features.
Shopp has always been a GPL licensed plugin, we’re just explicitly allowing users to download it without paying for a support key now.
The best Shopp experience will always be for paying customers, and this new model provides them essentially those same benefits as they were receiving before.
