wordpress 3.8 upgrading problem

When i tried to upgrade to wordpress 3.8 using update now link on the dashboard i am getting this error message.

Downloading update from https://wordpress.org/wordpress-3.8-new-bundled.zip…

Download failed.: Operation timed out after 300000 milliseconds with 523957 out of 6327138 bytes received

Installation Failed
```
I deactivated all the plugins and tried again to upgrade,but it returns that error message again.

Anyone known how to fix this issue.?

Have you asked your host about this issue?

Also, try this:

Deactivate all plugins, switch to default unedited theme, try again. Note: you should backup all site files and the full db prior.

i have the same issue when i try to upgrade/update my website on local desktop

Fatal error: Maximum execution time of 30 seconds exceeded in C:\xampp\htdocs\primbol\wp-includes\class-http.php on line 1327

i prepare that local site for piala dunia 2014 🙁
anyone can help ?

Please note: its LOCALHOST .. any reply to this should consider this as the real question.. its a LOCAL INSTALL..

i got the same problem, what you can do is manually update your files

The entire file structure has been changed in vesrsion 3.8.

Where this function $response = wp_remote_get($url, array(‘timeout’ => 30)); ?

in versions 3.7 was file function download_url() at wp-admin/includes/file.php, but where 3.8 ?

I was able to upgrade to 3.8 but I completely lost my Breezing Forms plug in and cannot re-install it as WordPress says the folder already exists but I cannot access it.

Therefore I have lost my Application Form on my website, how can I resolve this?
