Import Database

    I am new to WP and was looking for some advice. Thanks in advance:

    I have an existing site that was using an Access DB for its articles/archive. Is it possible to export these previous posts and import them into the DB? Is there an import utility for CSV or Tab files?

    Any advice is appreciated

    You’d have to roll your own utility for that one, I fear.

    However, WP *can* import RSS — is your existing application capable of generating RSS?

    Generating RSS? Not sure about that one, unless MS Access can generate it [?]

    Maybe I can just create another ‘archive’ with its own MySQL DB and create a Page to host the interface etc

    Someone should create an import utility for CSV’s or TAB files. You could easily add in other header columns for ‘Author’, ‘Category’ etc and suck it up like a vacuum!

    MezzRolled – Did you find a solution for this on any CMS? I really need to be able to do this and don’t want to pay someone to write a custom code.
