Hi,
I’m not 100% sure what you’re trying to do, can you explain a bit more?
If it helps, the Display events as option under Events > Settings > Pages > Event Pages is only for choosing the type of template to use for displaying single events, it doesn’t make events part of the normal WP blog.
Sorry for the bad description. Let me try again.
I have a movie news website. Lets say that ‘The Hobbit’ is a category. On a regular WP Page with a ‘blog’ template, I can choose”The Hobbit” Category and it will display all “Hobbit” Posts.
Here’s where I need to get that functionality from the events plugin:
I have a ‘Coming Soon” Page. Each movie is an event.
When you click on “The Hobbit” I would like ONLY “Hobbit” related posts to be shown. However, I do not see the normal ability to select a specific category to display. It is just displaying all recent posts.
I hope that is easier to understand.
Thanks.
did you mean the list on this link http://actionmovieaddict.com/events/47-ronin-2013/ under ‘Hottest Action Movies of 2013’ ?
Yes. The list on that page should only be associated to 47 ronin. But for some reason the plugin does not allow us to click on a specific category.
So what you need to do is connect events with normal WP blog categories?
If I am reading this correctly, It is not what I need. It seems like he wanted to categorize his custom post type so that it shows up in his regular feed.
I am trying to do the opposite. I am trying to get a specific category to show up on this post.
Thank you for the suggestion though. Much appreciated.
Hiya,
What exactly is providing the option to select a blog category? Is it your theme?
My suspicion is that it is your theme and if so, your theme is not accurately accounting for the use of Custom Post Types and as such you’ll need to ask the original theme developer to review that.
Thanks
