Try pressing save once in Theme Options. Your theme is missing the required body class for sidebars. Not sure if you would need to switch to the parent theme to do that. Probably not.
Were you overwriting any functions in your child theme? For example alx_body_class?
I’m running the latest theme version without issues on the demo site.

Would downgrading do anything if it’s an issue with your Child Theme, unless there were modifications to the original theme files?
Upgrade ok at v.1.2.4
