text area embed code (video) dissapears when saving

    I am using this plugin for more than a year now, thanks XNAU!

    But now I have a problem with the (embedded object) video-code in my records in the rich – text-area’s. before I could put some embed code there and save the record, and the video was showing in the single_record view. Perfect! See example: http://www.kringloop-info.nl/uitgebreide-winkel-info/?pdb=3103

    But…
    1. When I re-save a record with some objectcode, the code is completely gone!
    and …
    2. I am not able to put the code back or

    3. I cannot use the button for embedded media?

    When editing the screen shows the (yellow) embed video, but after saving it’s gone…

    Is the code stripped out by the Participants Database plugin? And more important: what is the solution for my problem?

    Hi Anna,

    What were you using for your embed code?

    Even in the old version, it was not possible to add an iframe embed, so I’m curious how you are doing your video embedding. Are you using another plugin for video embeds?

    Oh no, not a plugin, just paste <object>blabla</object>.

    I use the TinyMCE Advanced editor (plugin) on rich text fields.

    Ah, I see. OK, what will work once the next update is out is to use the standard WordPress way to add a video clip: just put in the URL, like this:

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dQw4w9WgXcQ

    Or whatever the video link happens to be.

    This won’t work in rich text fields until 1.5.2 is released tomorrow sometime.

    You won’t be able to use <object> or <iframe> tags.

    I have to update my (about 20) old records with the new URL method.
    Not very much work 😉

    Hah…I had no idea what the video was…I got it from the WP documentation!
