Plug in not working. Having problems

Hello,

I saw this plug in thought it looked amazing and installed it. Well for me it is not as simple as it is for everyone else. To start off with, it is not displaying all of the titles for the different options. I have check boxes but do not know what they are for until I hover over where the text should be to get a description of what it is. Not much fun.

Then I watch videos on how easy it is to add a gallery. I do all the steps like naming the gallery, importing images, naming the images ect. Then when I go to view the gallery on the page it doesn’t have the nice border around it and in a line going across the page. No mine travels down the page and the images are touching on another. Then when I go to click on the image it doesn’t appear in a lightbox no it simply opens up the image in the browser leaving the website which is one of the whole reasons why I installed the plug in to begin with to use the light box.

Can someone please help as I really want to create a nice simple gallery so my website is finished.

Ps. NextGEN Gallery 2.0.40 is what I have installed (latest version)
