    You said in a previous thread:

    There should be an input field next to the upload field. Keep in mind if you paste an external link in the upload field the file will not be “protected” and anyone can download that original file.

    However, when I paste the url of a file hosted somewhere else, it is never saved in the item itself.

    I might do something wrong but could you confirm me the issue?

    Hosting files elsewhere won’t work. They must be hosted locally. Otherwise, file protection won’t work.
