    I have a question about the wp-comments database. I have created a page (called shout outs) that is within my wordpress but that is not displayed for everyone to see. I have this page linked from another site but not from within my wordpress homepage.

    Okay, so the question is can I create another comments database say wp-commnets2 to handle all the comments created by those who view the “shout outs” page? I have tried to alter the “page” template for “shout outs”

    <?php comments_template(); Get wp-comments2.php template ?>

    but this causes an error.

    Does anyone have any suggestions on how to make this work?

    Hiya Marshall….

    I tend to think that this is the sort of deep-programming question that generally gets more response on the hackers list: http://wp-hackers@lists.automattic.com – I am no doubt wrong, but you’re talking about a new table in the database and so on….

    Rest assured, if as is likely I’m wrong, someone will correct me….

    Thank you so much for responding to my post. i have posted 3
    questions to this forum and never had a response as you can see by my attempt a humor in my second post. I was wondering if I was in the wrong forum. Thanks for the tip about wp-hackers@lists.automattic.com

    Well, I got a chuckle out of your post. I haven’t spent a lot of time here lately due to RL concerns and constraints, so didn’t realize you were having one of those “I’m not here, am I?” problems. Does happen, it’s not that we don’t care, just that the board tends to go past like lightning….
