ok…the first thing to do is see if there are in fact double posting going on by looking at the manage posts tab…if there are no double posts, then the problem is not with the plugin, but something going on with your wordpress site (since all the plugin does is take the feed and put the items into blog posts – nothing more than that).

I agree, you are correct. definitely not a plug-in error. It is instead, i think, related to the cron update, refreshing the users screen everytime the cron fires.
So I know this is not your plug-in creating a problem for me, I was just thinking, since you seem to be the king of RSS, that you might have an idea of exactly why it is happening and what I can do to stop it.
thanks
sorry to bother you.

the first thing is to see if the RSS feed has double entries…what is the RSS feed?

I have about 20 feed being fetched, 3 at a time, with a 300-count feed set up.
The posts are on auto-delete, three day delete period. I have looked thru these posts and there are not duplicate posts.
I am using WPenging as a hosting company, I emailed them your article about changing the wp-config file. They did that, then they installed the WP plugin Simple Cron to do a two-minute update, over-riding the default 10-minite update. I am following your advice and have just disabled the plugin to see if it was causing the problem.
The feeds I am getting are the major news organizations.
If the problem does not persist, I will just give up on the two-minute goal for feeds and stick with the ten minute cron.
The problem, so far as I could tell, was that the update was creating a browser refresh automatically, taking the users screen to the newest post, but as the user continued to click “back” in time, the user, unknown to him, had actually been put “forward” in time by the browser. That is my guess. Trying to duplicate the behavior again.
thanks for your trouble.

Hello Alan-
Feel compelled to write this, at the risk of creating an unnecessary. Just wanted to let you know that I have done significant research on my auto-refresh issue. Apparently this is a firefox auto-refresh issue and it appears to have nothing to do with your plug-in.
That being said, I am searching for a way to disable auto-refresh for browsers reading my site. So far unsuccessful, but I will let you know it I discover a fix, i imagine this may be an issue for some of your other users as well.
I posted a review for you on November 7,2013.

issue resolved, thank you Alan for all of your hard work. Not every day we WP newbies can get a BS/PhD/songwriter/ZenNinja to help us with things.
