Download the WordPress SEO by Yoast plugin. It adds a bunch of extremely useful, SOE functionality (including what you’re looking for).
I already have this plugin and I have entered text into:
Home Title:
Home Description:
Home Keywords (comma separated):
However still none of this text appears when I search my domain in google.
Well, your site needs to be indexed first before that information can be displayed. Right now, Google doesn’t know about the changes 🙂
How long has it been since you updated these values? It usually takes a couple of days. Three-five days.
Oh right well I have recently changed the SEO Tile, Description and Keywords through the plugin about 5 minutes ago! However is that all I need to do or do I have to do something in the index or config files?
Oh dear! Yeah, five minutes is not enough for Google to have re-indexed your site.
If you’re using the plugin I mentioned then all you need to do is update the title/description/keywords of the page you want and just have a little bit of patience.
Then, if after three days you still haven’t seen any changes, maybe try posting again.
