Hide menu item from public

    I am coming from the Joomla world and this is really easy to do in Joomla. But for the life of me I am not able see how to easily do this in WP. All I want to do is hide a menu item, not an entire menu, from the general public. Once someone logs in, then this menu item will appear. How can this be accomplished?
