On the bottom right of any of your admin pages you see your current WP version.
The nested menus are composed through a drag and drop system. You first place the menu items, and then to nest an item under the one above it you drag it to the right.
1.by admin page, do you mean ‘dashboard’? if so, i still don’t see the version #. can you be more specific?
2.drop-down/nested menus work fine on ‘chaotic soul’. when i change the theme to ‘modularity lite’ they don’t seem to work, even though the menu (with the nesting) remains the same. is it a problem with the conversion? what do i have to do to get them to work?
Did you go to Appearance > Menu and select the menu again?
When you are in your admin section, any page, scroll down until the very end, and you’ll see in the bottom right corner of the page your WP version.
You can check you version even if you click on dashboard->home or dashboard->update
yes – i clicked on ‘save menu’
all appear as single line across the top of modularity lite with no nesting.
maybe i am not understanding what you mean by ‘admin section’ – i still don’t see a version number
I just looked up that theme – looks quite old so it may not support drop down menus:

chaotic soul is old and now retired and did support drop down menus. is there anyway we can check if modularity lite does?
Where did you get the theme from? The one on this site is outdated and no longer supported – did you look at the note on the theme page I linked to above?
aaaaaaaaahhhhh – just went to the link. that could explain it. i really, really like the modularity theme, it’s too bad the newer versions of wp won’t work on it for the menus. think i will use it anyway and just adjust my format so it won’t include drop down menus. i can always return to chaotic soul if it totally doesn’t work.
