Google link in personal options not saving

I seem to be having an issue with my Google plus link not saving in WordPress ( Dashboard > Users > Edit User > Contact Info)

Whenever I enter in the full link: https://plus.google.com/+username (or any variation) and hit save the text box field reverts to “+username” This is causing issues for Google Authorship, which is seeing my markup as “http://+username” and therefore not working.

I have a strange suspicion that this happening because of a plug-in. Or I may be missing something else entirely. However, before I start messing with my site and plug-ins I was wondering if anyone has encountered this problem before? Or may know how to fix it? Thanks!
