• Caution: Adult Site: http://www.thekittenranch.com

What I want is when the site is resized, I don’t want the text boxes on the side to encroach into the white part…

I’ve tried putting position:absolute into the style, but I’m not sure I’m putting it in the right place…

If someone else knows a theme that’s already steady that would match this one.. I’d be SOO grateful.

  • I am not familiar with the original theme… but for a blog having only one post – you have quite a lot of errors:
    http://validator.w3.org/check?verbose=1&uri=http%3A//www.thekittenranch.com/
    Maybe correcting them will help.
    Maybe not.

    Themes: http://themes.wordpress.net
    Look for a 3 column fluid/flexible theme

If you are willing to work based on a stable simple theme to customize it for your site, take a look at Vesuvius:

(you can see it in action by switching themes)

While the validator is nice.. go run it on google. 44 errors for such a little page.. 🙂

BUT THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU for the theme stuff..

Anyone with any idea on how to correct the one I’ve got?

Sorry, I am not interested in Google’s validation.
You asked a question… and a site that doesn’t have the closing </body> and </html> – is crap code. Period. To get a minimal chance to make it work first you have to eliminate the errors. Nobody will take a look at it while full of errors. Sorry.
After that, if there are still display problems, we will try to help you. That’s how it works.

I installed it from the Just a Girl Theme. I’ve not added ANYTHING but the image in the middle.. and took away two images on the sides…

If there’s no body or HTML or anything that’s from the person who made the theme… not me.

I was just pointing out to you that the validator thing picks up on the most obscure things.. and your BUSIEST websites have validation problems…

Go tell Bill Gates or the Google CEOs they’ve got crap code…

Someone has serious arrogance issues. You’re just a moderator of a board, darlin.. that’s supposed to help people not talk down to them…

and when you talk down to someone… make it make sense.. because that validation thing is just for geeks with too much time on their hands.

Dude, Moshu knows what he’s talking about in this case.

You asked for help with your page and he pointed out that the theme you are using is a wreck.

If you know better, why do you need to ask for help ?

I don’t know better.. but his method of helping is rude..

It has something to do with the table that I have in the center… and it having a size… I’m sure there’s some style thing I could say and it fix everything… but don’t have a clue.. so I’m just going to tinker with it.

The problem only arises when I put the image in the center.. so I”m just going to read up and see what happens.

Good advice, and a rule of the forum:

    H: Complaints
Before you complain, please remember that all help here is free. Also remember that text alone can be a very poor medium for communication – if you have disagreed with someone you may both be misunderstanding. You have bad days so does everyone else – one post that you disagree with does not make the other person bad and neither does it make them a target to be got at. And please remember that this is only software, not something essential to life itself. Getting the last word in is not being constructive either.
If after considerable thought you want to make a point about someone, email me: tamba2 @ gmail . com.

Just to add myself to the mix, I would wholeheartedly advocate what moshu said, both on validation and looking at other themes.

The one you’ve got at the moment looks strangely antiquated, and not particularly professional; you’d be much better off, IMHO, with a “jazzier” theme and, whilst you’re at it, you can also get one that validates, thus taking care of all your problems.
