    Hi, hoping someone can help…

I am setting up a website using the Customizr theme and tried to change the font following the instructions given, but inserted the code into the functions.php file (as apposed to a child theme). Now I get the following error:

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected $end in /home/t54ewt/public_html/wp-content/themes/customizr/functions.php on line 253

I can’t access the site at all, not even the admin dashboard. I do still have the page open on my browser so can make changes, but can’t access the admin panel from another if I try to open in another tab on my browser. Sorry if I seem dumb, but I am completely new to this, so please bear with me. Help is desperately needed as I currently cannot do anything with the site.

    Thanks much

  • Simply remove or rename your childs theme functions.php and create new one.

I pasted the code into the original functions.php file (learning the hard way) and now I cannot access anything on the site at all. I can only change things on the existing file, which I have tried but to no avail.

Download a fresh copy of the theme and extract its functions.php file. Then upload this file to the theme’s folder inside wp-content/themes.

I have already downloaded a fresh copy of the theme and copied the content of the new functions.php file and pasted it directly into the editor of the original functions.php file and that didn’t work. Would uploading the file make a difference? Thanks.

It would rule out any introduced copying errors. Please try it.

Okay, I will try it. New to this, so it may take some time while I fiddle 😉 Will update on progress…
