Making a current test server live
-
I’ve found many, many forums, threads, posts and how to guides to migrate a test/local server over to a remotely hosted/other server to go live. However none of these seem relevant to what I need to do.
I have a linux server (LAMP) who’s entire purpose is to host this site. I’ve gotten WordPress installed fine, spent a long time perfecting it, and now I need to make it live. And that seems to take more than adjusting the site URL’s in the config/wordpress admin page.
So for instance, we’ve been working on it as http://web-server-001/wordpress and that’s been good as gold (Better than such, it’s been awesome). Now it needs to go live to our domain name. Made all the necessary DNS changes (we have another web server on server 2003 which is coming off) and firewall changes, did the options bit and going to http://www.ourdomain.co.uk we’ve just been getting text with no CSS, formatting, images etc etc.
Any guides around more suited to this?
Many thanks 🙂
