Vantage Premium and BuddyPress – will they work together? | WordPress.org

We are running the Vantage Premium theme, and are interested in building in a social network. BuddyPress seems to be the reigning king. Is it possible (without extensive coding) to implement BuddyPress while maintaining Vantage as our theme? (I’m not feeling optimistic)

And if that is not workable, is there another social network we can integrate that would achieve similar results, reliably?

@davebrutusbrown Check if your Vantage Premium theme’s page.php has the WP loop with the_title and the_content template tags like the free Vantage theme http://themes.svn.wordpress.org/vantage/1.1.2/content-page.php – if it is, then you’re good to go with some minor CSS tweaks, if any.

If your premium theme’s page.php is nothing like the free Vantage’s page.php content, then you’d either have to create one buddypress.php file per http://codex.buddypress.org/themes/theme-compatibility-1-7/a-quick-look-at-1-7-theme-compatibility/
or fully customize the pages of the BP components activated, per http://codex.buddypress.org/themes/theme-compatibility-1-7/template-hierarchy/
