When did you last check your database? Or repair its tables? Or make a database backup?
Thanks for replying!
Um, sadly, never. I do this through my host server?
Could this be the comment issue?
I’m looking into it now. Any words of advice.
Apologies, I’m a fledgling Word Presser…
OK. I see “repair database” in my Web Hosting Control panel. Gonna give that a try now.
ESMI,
So repairing the database from my server host didn’t work but I was able to repair the comments table and it worked!
Thanks, thanks, and thanks,
Joe
Glad to hear that you retrieved your comments 🙂

Hi All! Seems that all my comments disappeared with no rhyme or reason (at least none that I can ascertain). I searched the forums here and found a mind-numbing array of potential solutions, some of them as old as five years ago, so… I was wondering if someone who knows better than I (I’m a novice w.p. podcast blogger at best) which solution might apply to my situation. On the homepage it shows how many comments used to be in the posts but the posts themselves don’t show any of the comments.
Here’s the site in question:
http://thecuttingroompodcast.christianaproductions.com/
Here’s what the comments look like on my dashboard:
Discussion
0 Comments
0 Approved
0 Pending
0 Spam
I’m using the Twenty Eleven Theme.
I’m running the Askimet plug-in whose key seems to be valid. Deactivating it temporarily didn’t resolve the issue.
In discussion setting, I have checked “An administrator must always approve the comment” (and this was set like this before the issue).
Any help would be seriously appreciated.
Thanks,
JC
