WP e-commerce Plugin

I’m working with the WP e-commerce plugin version 3.8.9.3. I have been attempting to update items in the product tab of the dashboard, but when I click update after I’ve made the edits, there is just a bar displayed as though something should be loading, and the changes are never saved, product description never updated. Admittedly, I’m not extremely familiar with using WordPress or plugins, and I’m hesistant to update to the newest version, since people seem to have problems with it as well. Additionally, the site belongs to someone else, and I am just trying to help them customize it since I know some coding. Wondering if anyone else has encountered this problem, and if so, is there a fix (besides updating or using a different plugin). Thanks in advance!
