Which plugin are you using?

I actually just think I figured out the problem. I tried uploading just a regular JPG file and that wouldn’t work either. Any reason why my media uploader wouldn’t be working properly?
See if you can upload media properly after reverting to a default WordPress theme (say 2012 or 2013) with all plugins deactivated.

How do I revert to an old theme? I deactivated all plugins and that did not fix my problem.
Revert to Twenty Twelve or Twenty Thirteen (not any old theme). Most probably you will find them in dashboard > appearance > themes.

Still no luck. Every picture I upload does not upload properly for some reason. It’s like it gets corrupted or something every time. Any other potential solutions? Could it have anything to do with permalinks?
Can I see your site with Twenty Thirteen theme with all plugins deactivated?

Just changed it to Twenty Thirteen and deactivated all plugins.
Now try to upload an image. If you can upload, look for any other problems that may crop up.

Still no luck. When I upload the image, in the media library, there is a “broken image” icon rather than the image that I uploaded. When I try to go to the picture’s URL, I get a 404 error.
Then it can be a case of some incomplete WordPress files causing the troubles. BTW, how did you install/update WordPress? Manually or by just clicking the update button?
Try Manually updating from a fresh download of WordPress except wp-content – do not overwrite but delete wp-admin and wp-includes and replace them with fresh copies.

Is there a way to upload the entire wp-admin and wp-includes folders, or do I have to upload each file individually?
You can upload the entire folders – read the instructions again:
