Questions like this are very much theme specific questions, so without a link, without even mentioning your theme… you will not get any useful answer.
You can also search for sidebar down and similar keywords – your will find hundreds of posts.

It is happening with both the default and the classic themes…….but I started with the default theme in WordPress………….
Like moshu said, without seeing the site/issue we are stabbing in the dark. The most common reason for what you describe is badly formatted posts.

The posts were just copy and paste from CNN.com news articles, and also, during the first installation a few days ago, I tried to post photos by uploading then drag and drop to post……..I do not see any other method….anyway, I deleted those photos because I thought maybe that was incorrect…….not real easy for a newbie………are these instances of bad formatting??
