Did emails go out before activating the plugin?
Of note, this plugin does absolutely nothing to the emails. They are as they always were, so the odds are that you have something else going on. Check the server email logs to make sure they were sent at all.
Hi mike, thanks for the quick reply!
I never tried to send an email before using the plugin, as I don’t want people to be members on my other pages. Not to mention I have no idea how they’d sign up on the regular site anyway…
Where would I find the server email logs? I’m on bluehost if that makes a difference…
Step 1) Turn off the plugin
Step 2) With registration open, go to domain.com/wp-register.php
See if THAT sends emails.
As for the server logs, ask BlueHost :/ They should be able to help you there.
I could hug you for helping :).
After trying your very much appreciated suggested trouble shooting, and still no emails, I live chatted with BlueHost. Turns out it looks like an ancient email I never use may be getting spoofed/etc, so it’s deleted and now I”m waiting for the server to clear so I can try again. There’s an error log in the CP of bluehost and one of the errors was “acct has exceeded hourly email limit”. Seems that if one email on an account , even for a different domain, has exceed the limit it can throttle the other domains.
I’ll let the thread know the resolution after I wait a couple hours and try this again :).
