• Hi there,

I installed a new site with 3.6.1 and it seems as though I’m unable to create parent-child relationships on pages. I thought this was always possible…? if there is a setting I need to change, where would that be?

    thanks for your help everybody!

  • There is no setting that you need to change. What theme are you using? Where did you download it from?

I used the simplicity theme from wooThemes. might that be the problem? I didn’t think that the theme would have an effect on how pages work…. learn something new every day I guesss.

Can you replicate the problem using the default Twenty Thirteen theme?

yeah i switched to 2013 and it still has the same problem – no option to choose a parent when editing pages. is there a setting I can change somewhere?

    Have you tried:

    – deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem. If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

resetting the plugins folder by FTP or PhpMyAdmin. Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.

i tried that, still nothing…. hmm now i’m definitely confused…

    Site url?

no content yet but the domain is seascapelandconstruction.com

So – if there’s no content, how do you know that the child Page functionality isn’t working?
