Staff Portal Plugin Advice

Hi, I am working on a site for a client and they are looking for a staff portal area. From there they want to be able to manage staff, run online inductions and schedule them in to work specific events. when they register they will be assigned a unique staff id and then be able to login to their own dashboard area.

I have seen a few plugins that might do the job such as event espresso, but was just wondering if anyone had done anything similar and had found a plugin/series of plugins that can achieve this quickly as budget is reasonably tight.
