Single items and themes

    Is it possible to ascribe specific themes to individual posts just the way it can be done with pages?

    This can be done with conditional statements, but that is feasible when there are a handful of items. Otherwise, it becomes extremely cumbersome.

    So, I am looking for an alternative.

    Why not do it by category? You could then have a custom category or more for special posts.
